Canasta in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support

An excellent morning at the club playing canasta and enjoying coffee & homemade cakes and a wonderful spread for lunch, all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Very well done to Heather organising the event and to her team of helpers. Here’s a message from Heather to all those who supported the event: “Thank you all so much for coming to the Canasta morning yesterday and your generosity, once again. We hope you enjoyed it. The event raised an amazing amount of £505 which includes the raffle money and donations. As you’re no doubt aware, Macmillan is an extremely worthy charity which helps others in some of their darkest hours & I heard on the radio last week, the shocking statistic, that someone receives a cancer diagnosis every 90 seconds. In view of that high demand, we’re sure they will be delighted with your thoughtful & generous donation.”
