Congratulations to WLTC members who won Southend & District Summer Tournament finals. A very successful day for both Sarah Ball and Sue Sergeant winning three titles each! The day started with Sue winning the Ladies Senior Singles whilst Sarah & Duncan Taylor won the Mixed Senior Doubles event. Sue’s second success came in the Mixed Over 55 Doubles final with Greg Huggett when they won in straight sets. Sarah & Sue then teamed up to take the Ladies Senior Doubles title against fellow club members Cally Flinders & Sarah Jolley in two close sets. Sarah’s third victory was in the Ladies Over 35 Doubles this time playing with Cally Flinders against Sue Sergeant partnering Diana Carradus, with Sarah & Cally eventually winning the match 10-8 in the deciding championship tiebreak. Finally, Chrissie Christou had to settle for runners up spot in the Mixed Doubles Plate event, losing the final in three sets. Well done to all our players who reached finals and many thanks to our club captain, Steve Wynn, for organising another successful tournament and finals day for everyone.
