Congratulations to our Penzance Open 2025 finalists! Sue Sergeant won the Ladies 55+ Doubles title with partner Esther Symmonds (Oxford) in a close fought match against Cornish pair Flora Gomez & Maxine Cox. In her second final, Sue had to settle for runners up spot with partner Hugh Fixsen (Oxford) in the Mixed 60+ Doubles event. Similarly, it was runners up spot for Hazel Wynn with partner Pat Shields in the Ladies 65+ Doubles event. A very enjoyable week as usual for all our members who competed this year. The likely dates for the Penzance Open 2026 are Sunday 26th July to Saturday 1st August and Steve will be Tournament Referee once again. 2026 will be Steve’s 30th year as referee so please consider coming along whether it’s a return visit to Penzance or your first time. There are events for everyone including Open singles, Doubles and mixed, Handicap events in the same categories, plus various doubles events in the Seniors age groups.
