A night to remember at Chalkwell Park Rooms when the club held its first dinner dance since 2018! An excellent three course meal was followed by the presentation of trophies to winners of this year’s summer club tournaments and also last winter’s handicap doubles events. In addition, Club Captain Steve awarded the Player of the Season trophy to Martin Waller. There was a special guest on the night, club member June Pearce, who received a framed photo to mark her success in the recent ITF Masters World Championships. Steve was then the one to be taken by surprise when Club Chairman Bez Berry read a tribute poem to Steve acknowledging his 40 years of service on the club’s committee. In recognition of this, court 3 is to be named “Court Steve Wynn” and the name board made by club member Dan Thrale was presented to Steve.
