A big thank you to all those club members who helped out during the Essex County Closed Championships. Across the seven days, in addition to our Tournament Referee Steve, we had a total of 42 volunteers including playing members, social members and a couple of juniors. Some wore the orange shirts and were out on court ensuring matches went smoothly whilst others donned their aprons to help Sarah in the kitchen to provide delicious food all week for players, spectators and helpers too! Many thanks to Sarah for her hard work both before and during the week. Lots of other jobs were undertaken, ranging from serving behind the bar, looking after the coffee/tuck shop station, sweeping courts, even emptying rubbish bins! Every volunteer contributed to a hugely successful tournament once again. Last but not least, a massive thank you to Steve who masterminded the event, with his usual attention to detail, calm and efficient as always!
